1
Collect patterns, not quotes
Read discussions relevant to your category and record recurring questions, frustrations, and competing approaches. Preserve the context: who was speaking, what they had tried, and whether other commenters disagreed. Do not assume a thread represents your target customers.
2
Write a claim-safe brief
Choose one audience and one problem. Match every proposed benefit to your own product documentation, demonstration, or other substantiation. Separate observations from claims you can actually make, and obtain permission before using a person's words or likeness.
3
Develop and review concepts
Draft several hooks that express the verified benefit in different ways. Compare the resulting concepts for clarity, visual accuracy, and platform requirements; then test approved versions with your own audience. Community sentiment cannot predict which ad will perform best.
